Think you may have an STD/STI? The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases states, “…STDs/STIs can cause long-term health problems, particularly in women and infants. Some of the health complications that arise from STIs include pelvic inflammatory disease, infertility, tubal or ectopic pregnancy, cervical cancer, and infections in infants born to infected mothers.”
It’s vital to your health to get tested as soon as possible if you suspect an STD/STI. We offer no cost STD/STI testing and treatment. Get the facts you need today with our confidential and professional services.
What is an STD/STI?
A sexually transmitted disease (STD) is an infection that is spread during sexual activity through blood, semen or vaginal and other bodily fluids. Many people don’t know they have an STD/STI because it can go unnoticed for long periods of time.
Symptoms of an STD/STI
You could have only one symptom of an STD/STI, multiple, or none at all. It’s always better to be safe than sorry and get tested. Some common signs of an STD/STI to look out for include:
- Sores or bumps on the genitals or in the oral or rectal area
- Painful or burning urination
- Discharge from the penis
- Unusual or odorous vaginal discharge
- Unusual vaginal bleeding
- Pain during sex
- Sore, swollen lymph nodes, particularly in the groin, but sometimes more widespread
- Lower abdominal pain
